Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald eulogized Sen. John McCain Thursday, telling stories on the man who became their close friend despite their distinctions.

“Many people might wonder what a young African-American kid from Mn and a highly decorated Vietnam sensei turned United States senator might have alike,” Fitzgerald, 34, said. “Well, I figured of a few. I’m black. Your dog was white. I’m fresh. He wasn’t so fresh. He lived with physical limits brought on by war. I’m an experienced athlete. He ran with regard to president. I run out of limits. Fitzgerald was amongst four speakers to offer eulogies Thurs . at a memorial service inside Phoenix for McCain, who was killed of brain cancer final Saturday at 81. Another memorial service for McCain is going to be held Saturday at the Country wide Cathedral in Washington, Deb.C., where former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama will speak. McCain’s burial will be Sunday at the Anyone.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
