Minnesota Vikings receiver Cayleb Jones is in Dakota City jail in Hastings, Minn., after being in jail on suspicion of a few counts on Tuesday.
Jones is being organised without bail on claims of felony theft, misdemeanor infiltration and interfering with a 911 call, though he has not charged.
Bail should be set at a court appearance scheduled with regard to Thursday, the same day the Vikings check out the Tennessee Titans for their preseason finale.
“I am aware of the situation involving Cayleb Williams and are in the process of gathering more information,” Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said from a statement. “Further comment will be provided at the appropriate time.”
Jones is already slated to miss the first four activities of the 2018 NFL season once violating the league’s coverage on performance-enhancing substances.
The 25-year-old spent previous season on the Vikings’ practice team.
Jones is the older brother with Buffalo Bills receiver Zay Williams, and the two were involved with a bizarre incident within March.
Zay Jones was imprisoned in downtown Los Angeles soon after calls to police with regards to a disturbance at an apartment developing. A Los Angeles Police Office spokesperson said Jones appeared to be “breaking glass doors plus windows” in the building.
TMZ posted a video that purportedly showed the naked Zay Jones struggling with Cayleb Jones in the hallway of a building. The clothed man appeared to be trying to control the exposed man, who was heard telling, “I’m going to fight with regard to Jesus.” Broken windows along with blood-covered walls were subsequently noticed in the video.
Prosecutors later declined to help prosecute Zay Jones for prison vandalism because of “insufficient studies.”
The two brothers are the daughter of former linebacker Robert Jackson, who played 10 the seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (1992-95), Street. Louis Rams (1996-97), Miami Dolphins (1998-2000) and California Redskins (2001).
